The focus of KOLI+E studies which are based on 45 minute in-depth interviews with Key Opinion Leaders in Europe and the USA is to explore how the clinical management of specific conditions is impacted by:

  • Major current problems and unmet needs
  • Key recent and future advances (diagnostic and therapeutic)
  • Major/significant Clinical Trials that have either recently started or that will be initiated in the near future which might have a significant impact on the management of the disease area

For each diagnostic and therapeutic advance mentioned by KOLs, MMRI/MMS explore the,

  • Rationale to support this thinking
  • Extent of impact it would have on clinical management
  • Degree of likelihood of the mentioned advance reaching the marketplace
  • Timing of when the KOL believes this advance might reach the marketplace
  • Reasons for the KOL's opinions concerning this advance

For each clinical trial specified, MMRI/MMS probe the KOL to capture:

  • Trial name, lead investigator, hospital and city
  • Basic trial design: number of patients, comparators, endpoints, duration
  • Novel/special/particularly notable features of trial design
  • Reason for considering it a potentially significant trial
  • Degree of potential impact on management of specified therapeutic area
  • Likelihood of success
  • Reasons for the KOL's opinions about the specific trial mentioned
